See the places unseen. You think you know what’s going on in Ottawa, but there are so many nooks and crannies of inspiration and creation in this city that are waiting to be discovered. Doors Open Ottawa is the largest architectural and heritage event in the city. Residents and tourists are sent on a guided adventure through Ottawa by exploring a wide range of buildings, and checking out the ins-and- outs of familiar, and perhaps not-so- obvious, neighbourhoods.
This year, Makerspace North is inviting curious individuals from all over to show up and take a peek at what’s going on behind our big bay doors. We like to take every opportunity we can to celebrate the makers and creatives in our city-- especially the ones in our own community who work out of our space.
Join us this year to tour our lively mixed-use space, meet the makers, learn about ongoing projects and programs, and explore

In celebration of Canada's 150th anniversary, pay homage to Ottawa’s history, culture, and stunning architecture during Doors Open Ottawa 2017! This year, over 150 historically, culturally and functionally significant buildings will open their doors for free for the public’s viewing pleasure. From Carp to Cumberland, over 80,000 visitors are expected to explore some of the city's most interesting places during the event's 16th consecutive year in operation.
Whether you're a resident or visitor to the nation's capital, take advantage of the Doors Open Ottawa Shuttle Bus, operating within walking distance of over 50 participating buildings. Or take the opportunity to enjoy the summer sun and cycle your way around the city on a Doors Open Ottawa bicycle tour. No bike, no problem! Visitors can visit numerous buildings per day by making their way around the downtown core on foot.
